Cardiff Multicultural Mela Voluntary Organisation

Cardiff's first and only large scale outdoor mela is organised by the Cardiff Multilcultural Mela voluntary committee which is based in Cardiff in conjunction with various National Mela Associations. As a non-profitable organisation, our aim is the organise the now established and official outdoor Mela and see it grow in years to come. We are relying on the help of local businesses & grants in order to generate funds for the mela. This is a 100% free event!

The Cardiff Multicultural Arts & Music voluntary committee is chaired by Imran Iqbal who has been responsible for over 90% of Asian music events in Wales and the West over the last few years. His portfolio of events have included concerts, club events, formal balls, indoor melas, weddings and corporate events and have included leading artists of the UK & World Asian music industry. These include Raghav, Imran Khan, Jay Sean, Juggy D, Rishi Rich, Panjabi MC, B21, RDB, Aman Hayer, Dr Zeus and many many more.

A new sub committee will be formed for the 2009 Mela to reflect the increased size of the Mela event. This sub committee is currently taking applications for membership, please get in touch if this may be of interest to you. Please email your CV to info@cardiffmela.com. This is a community event and we are very keen to represent a cross section of the community in Wales.
